Addressing some questions that you had in the video. As far as i know from all the livestreams, podcasts, interviews that i watched with Taras: 1) He does production himself. There is no one standing behind him/helping. His doing everything on his own. 2) He produces the track peace by peace. What i mean is that he records let's say 4-5 secods of beatbox, tries different production on it (more reverb, less reverb etc.). If not satisfied - re beatboxes the part and does production on new beatbox part. With the concept of where the song should go beforehand, but each peace is "played around" separately. 3) He does create a track in a way that he could beatbox it. I.e. every sound that you hear is produced by Taras beatboxing, there are no "new sounds" added in production. But he uses production techniques like reverb, delay etc. to make the sound that he produced to span for more time in the background of the new sounds, or infront of new sound (in other videos there's this technique also used). In this particular track more to the end there's a peace where it sound like the sounds are cut - this is done via beatboxing, not production. On production he only added "sorounding" sounds. In one of his livestreams he said that in order to produce 4 seconds of the track he spend 2 weeks and around 200 beatbox takes. That's why one track takes around a month/2 to procude. Also i think in one of the livestreams he said that once he has figured out all the peaces etc. he then records full track only with beatbox, then slices each sound and adds effects on each of the sounds, and as far as i understand that's when he records the video.

Hi! Taras is a genius. He do everything himself. Production? He only uses 3 types of effects : echos, delay, reverb. Every sound comes from his mouth. And you have a great analysis about beatbox and evolution of beatbox. Taras wants to do music. With beatbox. But music. He is doing a great job. Man the control of Tongue Bass into the Synth like my Gosh!! And I was gonna say the same thing when talking about a freestyle.. big difference if it’s like literally off the top of your head like asking him to do a 1 min track but no Kicks or Snares 😂 but what I’m getting at is that there’s nothing he possibly PRACTICED not applying one of those so it has to be Fresh Fresh and not a Thought Section that’s just not finished… I will say though when he continues the On going beat it possibly creates enough space for himself to think of that next transition!? I’m not a freestyler and not a good enough beatboxer to 100% tell you how much is complete freestyle

julard 2nd round is very old from him, he even said on stream that he need to make a new drum and bass track because its so outdated to is current level/style Is newer routine like its time to breath would of been better

Osis’s 2nd round was completely rushed if he had the same composure as he did during his Acid Rain routine I think it would have been a bit closer to maybe an Overtime but just my thought

I'm 100% the same with you. I get why he won and it's very valid, but I am also very bass heavy when it comes to beatbox. I just love a good, heavy bass. I like feeling it in my body. Straight drum technique is just not enough for me. But I have tried to figure out what makes someone that's more drum heavy win over someone that's more bass heavy or vise versa or the vise versa with someone who's more musical. And yes, I always thought the winner should be the one that has the best balance of all three elements: technicality, musicality, and bass. But I finally figured it out. The big determining factor for the judges is power. Like how hard something can hit, and there in lies the differences of judging it live versus judging an online competition and whether you were hearing it live and what was the sound system like and what was the mixing like hearing it back on RUclips with all the mixing and mastering behind it, etc. That just has too many variables to it versus the other three aspects: technicality, musicality, and bass. But, hey, that's what they're looking for the most, I guess. The beatboxer that can hit the hardest. The one that can break the sound system. I mean, it's kinda like in the way I prefer bass heavy beatboxers as I like to feel my body shake when I hear the bass. But many of the winners are pretty straight technical beatboxers because they HAVE actually made the quality of their drums hit just as hard as a bass heavy beatboxer could with a smooth but heavy bass. Plus a good bass just adds more texture to it. It's why Napom will always be my favorite beatboxer. He is the perfect balance of all the different aspects of beatbox and he's won many competitions. You could say the same for D-low, and he is one of my favorites, but Napom, I am convinced, will always be my number one no matter what. So, yeah, just like you, I may not be the biggest fan of straight technical beatboxers, but I respect them for their skill level and how they do so well in competitions.

There has been a lot of hate towards Julard for winning GBB24, but I think people don't quite understand that in a face-to-face battle, not everything is the beatbox itself, but there is also the power of the sounds in the microphone, the cleanliness, your stage presence, your ability to surpass your opponent through counters or by surpassing their best ability (Technique, speed, musicality, power, etc.), and that is why Julard won. Let's not forget that apart from power, his sounds were incredibly clean, something that, for example, Kaji, did not completely achieve. I feel like ALL the other bbxers have more artistic identity than him, but no one could counter him correctly, no one could take the crowd like him and above all, he sounded more powerful than anyone else. He pierced the sound system. I don't think Julard could win a GBB Online, for example, but honestly, I would be terrified to battle him in person.

Not only was he still countering kaji, but he made up an entire round on the fly that emulated kajis round structure, not just his style, and demonstrated more power

I would say beyond technique and power, julards beat structure is completely new to the scene. These are not popular ways to place sounds in a bar and he is also incredibly good at leveraging brief periods of silence at the perfect moments to build up the following hit.
